OriginTrail Builders Challenge 1.0

Building on the World's First Decentralized Knowledge Graph

What is the challenge?

With the growing capabilities of the OriginTrail Decentralized Knowledge Graph (DKG), possibilities for extending its use cases are growing as well. While we have seen plenty of high-value adding examples implemented in production already, we are only scratching the surface. With this in mind, we are announcing the first initiative under the OriginTrail Evangelist Program which will seek to empower the builders community in the OriginTrail ecosystem. We are excited to unveil - the OriginTrail Builders Challenge!

OriginTrail Evangelist Program consists of a series of activities aimed at increasing the awareness of OriginTrail DKG among solution builders. To empower the builders community to create on top of the OriginTrail DKG foundation, the OriginTrail Evangelist Program will focus on sharing the knowledge and improving how seamless of an experience it is to use the OriginTrail technology. The first in the series of activities is the OriginTrail Challenge - a fully online competition among solution builders.

The OriginTrail Challenge is designed to allow participants with different backgrounds (engineering, business development, academia …) to gain knowledge of the technology used by the most successful companies in the world and apply that in the context of one or more chosen industries. You may apply to the challenge as an individual or as a team.

The applications for the first OriginTrail Challenge are now open. Applicants from all geographies and backgrounds are welcome to submit their ideas and join the challenge. We are looking for multi-disciplinary takes on creating solutions that can be at various levels of maturity by the end of the challenge (idea, prototype, or working solution). Your solution, however, must fall within at least one of the focus areas of the challenge:

Supply Chains

Sustainable Energy

DeFi

NFTs & Metaverse

Knowledge Graphs

Education

Media

Other (describe)

We are looking forward to all submissions of prototypes, solutions, and ideas that are leveraging the OriginTrail DKG. The OriginTrail challenge opens today, on Tuesday Aug 17th 2021, and will run for 3 weeks. At the end of that period, applications will be processed by a selected jury consisting of Trace Alliance members, including key representatives of the OriginTrail community within the Working Group on Decentralization and Tokenomics. Upon the votes of the jury, three winners of the first OT DKG Challenge will be selected.
